Our Agenda Going Forward

  • Legacy: support victims and survivors in their demand for a complete change in the current U.K. legacy legislation and to have the reform legislation grounded in the ECHR
  • Restoration of 50/50 recruitment for the PSNI. There is an urgent need to have a balanced police service going forward
  • Promoting the admonition in the GFA that the decision in a Border Poll, when it occurs, is for the people of Ireland alone, without interference or advocacy from the British Government in any form. This commitment to rigorous impartiality must be incorporated into UK domestic legislation
  • Promoting all aspects of the Good Friday Agreement ” in all of its dimensions” that have yet to fully implemented including a Civic Forum, a Bill of Rights, and sustained support for East/West &  North/South intergovernmental conferences
  • The appointment of a Special Envoy with a broad remit to support the Good Friday Agreement and to encourage peace and prosperity in Northern Ireland. There has been broad bipartisan support for such an appointment ever since President Bill Clinton appointed Senator George Mitchell as his Special Envoy.
